ACCLAIMED British physicist Stephen Hawking is to hit the big screen in a
film adaptation of his legendary 1988 international hit, “A Brief History of
Time.”
The film, “Beyond the Horizon,” aims to explain some of the complicated
theories Hawking and his fellow physicists put forth, like the origin of the big
bang and the concept that space has up to 11 dimensions.
Sixty-four-year-old Hawking will star alongside “24” actress Lina Patel. He
also explains cosmological concepts on the soundtrack.
“Beyond the Horizon” centers on a fictional religious affairs correspondent
for The Times newspaper, who interviews Hawking for a major feature.
Former “Star Trek” scriptwriter Leonard Mlodinow is working with Hawking on
the project, which is currently under production. The release date is not yet
decided.
