More new apartments sold in Guangzhou in July
穗楼市7月新盘放量
Statistics show that 6,500
new apartments came into the real estate market of Guangzhou in July, as
eased to some extent the tension between supply and demand.
June witnessed a shrinking
supply of new houses due to the World Cup fever. The total floor area that month
only reached 213,000 square meters, down 67.7% on a year-on-year basis.
It is a good time for
buyers to purchase self-use apartments, said experts, because the real estate
prices are expected not to go down dramatically in the short run.
GZ enterprises

粤企业50强过半是广州企业
Twenty-six Guangzhou companies have been listed in Guangdong province's Top
50 businesses of 2005. The list was jointly published yesterday by the
provincial Bureau of Statistics and Guangdong's Provincial Economy & Trade
Committee.
In 2005, business income
of the province's 50 largest enterprises all exceeded 10 billion yuan, while
those of companies in Guangzhou totalled 772.9 billion yuan; 51% of
total income in the province.
Total business income in
the Top 50 was 1,505 billion yuan, up 265 billion yuan over 2004. Total assets
were 2,696 billion yuan, up 14.9% over 2004, and total profits were 103 billion
yuan, also up 12.8% over the previous year.
Guangdong's GDP
Increasing by 14.4% in Jan-Jun
广东上半年GDP增长14.4%
Huang Huahua, Governor of
Guangdong Province, said that the economy of Guangdong Province saw a rapid and rational
development in the first half of this year.
In Jan-Jun, 2006, the GDP
of Guangdong Province hit 1156.532 billion RMB, up 14.4 percent year on year.
The value added of large industries reached 486.78 billion RMB, with an increase
of 18.5 compared with the same time of last year. Meanwhile, the total
investment in fixed assets reached 323.089 billion RMB, the export value reached
131.2 billion USD and the financial revenue reached 248.2 billion RMB,

respectively.
Bottled gas price
rises to 83 yuan
全省瓶装气均价涨至83元
Prices of bottled natural gas
have rebounded to 83 yuan in Guangdong due to insufficient supply.
After hitting the highest in the
middle of January, the prices experienced a slow downward trend from 104 yuan to
80 yuan on July 11.
Three reasons account for
the rebound, according to experts. First, it is natural to have such a rebound
since the price decline has lasted for as long as half a year.
Secondly, the price
increase is also a result of floods caused by several typhoons in the province
because most of the gas supply are transported by ship.
The fact crude oil prices
remain high also explains the price rise.
Guangdong IT
output exceeds 1 trn yuan
广东IT出口超1万亿元
Guangdong is undoubtedly the
country's leading producer of IT products, having passed the 1 trillion yuan
mark last year, according to several PRD newspapers.
Statistics released by the
provincial government publicity office show that in 2005 Guangdong generated 1.15 trillion yuan in IT industry
output value, accounting for 33.32 per cent of the national total and equaling
the combined IT output value of Jiangsu and
Shanghai, which
followed in second and third place.
It took nine years for
Guangdong to
increase its IT output value from 10 billion yuan to 100 billion yuan, but only
three years from 100 billion yuan to 500 billion yuan. Doubling that number
again took only a little more than two years, according to the
reports.
